Jobe Valves Vortex Bottom Fill Float Valve: High-Flow Control, Fully Concealed

Some installations don't have room for a top-mounted valve, or need the hardware kept out of sight and out of reach. The Vortex Bottom Fill is built for exactly that—a high-flow, float-operated valve configured for underwater mounting only, so it fills the tank from below while staying fully submerged and protected.

A nylon cord connects the float to the valve, operating a pilot valve that triggers the main diaphragm as the water level drops. It's the same high-flow, compact, robust, non-corrosive construction the Vortex line is known for—just packaged for underwater installation.

Applications:

  • Animal drinking troughs
  • Water storage tanks

Features:

  • High flow, compact, robust construction
  • Mounts horizontally or vertically
  • Made from corrosion-resistant materials
  • Valve unscrews from tail for easy valve seal access
  • Shuts down slowly to minimize water hammer
  • 20–60mm (¾"–2½") water level differential (increases as water inlet pressure increases)
  • Pressure rating 0.3–7 Bar (5–100 PSI)
  • Float position easily adjustable with no tools
  • Valve has a switch to lock it in the off position
  • Port to connect the FrostPro anti-freeze device

Selecting the Right Inlet Size

Match your valve's inlet size to your supply plumbing—a 2" valve won't outperform a 1" supply line, since your flow rate is always limited by the smallest pipe in the system. If you upgrade your plumbing later, a different tail can adapt your existing valve rather than requiring a full replacement. See our Detach Short Tail and Detach Long Tail options.
