Description
The Vortex Bottom Fill float valve is a float operated valves for use in automatic filling of water troughs. The valve is configured for underwater mounting only. The float is connected to the valve with a nylon cord, this operates a pilot valve, when the water level drops, the pilot valve is opened and the main diaphragm valve is activated. Vortex is a good choice where its high flow, compact, robust, non corrosive construction is beneficial.

Selecting the right inlet size:

Selecting the right size inlet is very important to the performance of your float valve. The inlet of the float valve should match your supply plumbing. For instance if your supply plumbing is 1" you will get no better performance from a 2" valve. Your flow rate will always be limited by the smallest pipe. Always match your float valve inlet size to your water supply pipe size. If you intend on upgrading your water supply plumbing at some point you can always purchase a different tail.
