Jobe Rojo Float Valve: A Small Valve With Big Features

Not every job calls for high flow. When you need dependable, automatic water level control in a tank, trough, or cistern without paying for capacity you don't need, the Jobe Rojo Float Valve is the compact, corrosion-resistant workhorse built for the job. It's a simple, mechanically operated float valve that can be mounted above or below the water line, and it's been a trusted low-flow choice across agriculture, irrigation, and aquaculture for years.

Key Features:

  • Float-Operated: Automatically regulates water level with no electronics or power required.
  • Versatile Mounting: Installs above or below the water level, in side, bottom, or top configurations.
  • Right-Sized Flow: Up to 4 GPM with the standard valve, or up to 7 GPM with the High-Flow version—plenty for low-demand systems without unnecessary turbulence.
  • Compact Design: Easy to install and maintain, even in tighter spaces than a high-flow valve would need.
  • Built-In Check Valve: Lets you service the float valve without shutting off the water supply.
  • Lock-Off Switch: Manually shuts off water flow for tank maintenance without touching the main supply.

Installation and Maintenance Tips

Mount the valve where the float can move freely without obstruction, and follow the included instructions for a secure fit. Once installed, a periodic check of the float and sealing components, along with a clean filter, keeps the valve performing at its best—adjust the float height any time your ideal water level changes.

Common Applications

The Rojo shows up wherever low-flow, reliable water control matters: livestock watering troughs, irrigation holding tanks, and aquaculture ponds among them.

Selecting the Right Size

Match the valve's inlet size to your supply plumbing—a 3/4" valve won't outperform a 1/2" supply line. Your flow rate is always limited by the smallest pipe in the system. The maximum inlet size for the Rojo line is 3/4"; if your supply line is larger, look to the Topaz, Vortex, or MegaFlow lines instead. If you upgrade your plumbing later, a different tail can adapt your existing Rojo valve from 1/2" up to 3/4" without a full replacement.
