Underwater Mounting Is the Core of the Design
Megaflow is configured specifically for below-water installation. That's not incidental — it's the design's foundation. A submerged valve sits physically out of reach of the animals drinking from the trough, which removes it from the daily nosing, chewing, and rubbing that exposed hardware takes on a working farm. Submersion also helps the valve avoid freezing in cold weather, since it's insulated by the surrounding water instead of sitting exposed to the air. Both of those protections come from the installation itself — nothing extra to add on, nothing extra to remember before winter.
A Pilot-Operated Diaphragm, Not a Simple Float-to-Seat Design
Under the hood, Megaflow works differently than a basic float valve. The float doesn't close the main water passage directly — instead, it operates a small pilot valve, which in turn controls a main diaphragm valve. That two-stage mechanism is what allows Megaflow to move up to 90 GPM (depending on inlet size) through a compact, robust body. A direct float-to-seat design moving that much water would need to be considerably larger and would put far more mechanical strain on the float arm itself. The pilot-and-diaphragm approach lets a small, precise motion at the float control a much larger flow of water downstream.
Construction Built for Daily Wear
Megaflow's body is compact, robust, and made from corrosion-resistant materials — built on the assumption that animals, weather, and heavy daily use are the normal operating environment, not an edge case. That matters on a working farm where a valve might get bumped, splashed, and cycled dozens of times a day without anyone checking on it between visits.
A Differential That Adapts to Pressure
Megaflow's water level differential runs 20–60mm and widens as water pressure increases — a built-in behavior that helps prevent the rapid on/off cycling that can wear out a system under variable supply pressure. That's a meaningful detail for farm water systems, where pressure isn't always perfectly steady throughout the day.
Maintenance Features
A lock-off cord lets you shut the valve down for cleaning or service without touching the main supply line, and a built-in inlet filter helps keep sediment and debris out of the internal mechanism before it becomes a problem. Between the two, Megaflow is built to be serviced in the field, not pulled and shipped back for repair.
Sizing It Correctly
Match the inlet to your actual supply plumbing, not the other way around — your flow rate is always capped by the smallest pipe in the system, so a 1" Megaflow fed by 3/4" supply pipe won't outperform a 3/4" valve. If your plumbing changes down the road, a different Detach tail can adapt an installed Megaflow without a full valve swap.
